Description
At this 30-year-old joint, poetry is a contact sport—especially on Friday’s slam night (there are occasional matinees as well). Lyricists from the boroughs and beyond square off, and the winner is decided by an animated, jam-packed house. Arrive early. It may be poetry, but 3rd and C is the East Village—the house that Ginsberg helped build. Drinks, while cheap, are not the focus.
