Description
Paris and Nicole can skip their next trip to the boonies and just take a trip to Atlantic Avenue. There, the bar Floyd, NY is modeled after taverns in Floyd, Iowa, owner Pam Carden’s hometown. She and her husband, Jim, have have added rural elements like a jukebox stocked with Hank Williams and the Bad Livers; tin ceilings; vintage signs; a salvaged 1870s bar; and nice bartenders. It looks like a joint that’s been around for ages—not a renovated liquor store. Schlitz beer and Kentucky beer cheese complete the theme. An indoor bocce court, on the other hand, doesn’t make sense at all.

Mon–Fri 5pm–4am; Sat, Sun 1pm–4am.
