“I always get excited when I get to pull out my ‘cities of the world’ scarf. It’s from the early 1960s and has names of all the major cities in the world embroidered on it in different colors. It was my mom’s when she was a teen and was given to me by my grandma when she was cleaning out her attic. When it gets cold enough, I rock the matching hat. (There were, once upon a time, mittens, but bad kitties ate them.) I always get compliments on my scarf and it’s extra special to me because of its origins.”
