Girly NYC
Two ceramic poodles greet customers at owner and designer Pamela Atwood’s ultrafeminine haven. Silk-covered walls and Pucci-like swirls on the floor further its X-chrome vibe, but you won’t have to worry about leaving looking like a Barbie doll. Betsey Johnson’s house line of Technicolor unmentionables (from $38) will breathe new life into your underwear drawer and can be sported outside the boudoir. There’s also a handful of sweet dresses ($156–$325) from womenswear labels like Mint and Amanda Upichard. 441 E 9th St between First Ave and Ave A (212-353-5366)
La Petite Coquette
For more than 25 years, proprietor Rebecca Apsan has been girding New Yorkers’ loins, thanks to her immensely popular emporium and expert staff. Its moniker is French for “the little flirt,” and Apsan’s come-hither goodies don’t disappoint: She was the first in NYC to carry the Bracli pearl thong ($69). Her boudoirish depot also features scads of gamine to ultrasexy wares imported from Europe, along with its own collection of silk-and-lace G-strings ($70) and kimono cover-ups ($220). Ladies with a foot fetish can walk out in Jacques Levine’s marabou high-heeled slippers. 51 University Pl between 9th and 10th Sts (212-473-2478)
