About Wills’s job: “I’m at Green Owl, an environmentally sustainable label, where I blog and manage the Very Best and their new album, Warm Heart of Africa (also featuring M.I.A. and Ezra Koenig). When not at Green Owl, I produce and develop new shows for “Afropop Worldwide” on Public Radio International. And for the last few years, I’ve been working in conjunction with CARE (care.org) to make audio field recordings in West Africa, Israel, Palestine and Peru.”

I saw Julia play a set at Pianos and I was really impressed. Her lyrics are thoughtful. She is mature beyond her influences. She can sing the blues while maintaining her signature slow-burning vocal delivery.
