Let's get it on...
Get Naked
Editor’s note: Paying for sex is illegal in New York City, so use the information below at your own risk; Time Out New York is not responsible for your safety. At each location, your mileage may vary, depending on your masseuse, your look and your behavior. The services described below are not explicitly offered at the spas, which describe themselves as legitimate massage parlors. A decent tip is usually $40. The following five have been in operation for at least two years running.
West Garden Spa
243 W 30th St between Seventh and Eighth Aves (212-244-7711, westgardenspa.com)
Cost: $100 plus tip
This superclean, two-floor complex, which looks like a legit spa inside and out, is a good place for beginners, as long as you don’t mind some chitchat: Every businessman and his client go here, and they’re not afraid to make small talk (“Have a good time, dude?,” wink wink). There’s a nice gym-quality locker room, steam rooms, sauna and showers, yours to use, no rush. Then you get a table wash (often by a petite Latina woman) and are directed (by an Asian woman of the spa’s choice) into a labyrinth of private white rooms, with Lite FM music piped in. After a decent massage (“Hard or soft?”), she’ll jerk you off. Don’t touch her back, unless you want an unhappy ending.
New York Health Spa
5 W 37th St between Fifth and Sixth Aves (212-575-5600)
Cost: $80 plus tip
Through the lobby of an office building and around the corner from the Girl Scouts headquarters (yeesh), this downstairs Asian massage parlor appears to be furnished by Crate and Barrel, with wood-paneled floors and a fully stocked locker room (brand-name Q-tips!). The service is just as quality: You’ll get a table shower and a fine massage, followed by an unrushed rub and tug. Then get dressed in the private locker room; the best part about this place is that it keeps you away from your fellow spagoers. No chance you’ll run into Uncle Ted in the john.
Miga Spa
238 W 78th St between Amsterdam Ave and Broadway (212-501-7750)
Cost: $70 plus tip
Getting a happy ending is more of a K-town thing—there aren’t a ton of places on the Upper West Side. But this little hideaway, in an apartment converted into a massage parlor, is good for a post-IMAX fix. In a building right next to Stand-Up New York (shield your eyes from the college kids waiting in line for comedy), the space is clean enough. We saw two rooms. Ask for Lily if you like a strong massage—and a good amount of ass play. She’ll let you kiss her neck, too, if you’re a repeat customer and kind.
My Heavenly Hands
Locations vary (646-460-0566, myheavenlyhands.com)
Cost: $130 for 30 minutes; $200 for an hour, plus tip
Also known as Latin Sun (at least in the back-page ads), this service, run by self-proclaimed college girls (but who knows), employs Hispanic and black women, a nice alternative to the usual Asian fare. The locations differ, but we’ve been to the one in a shabby apartment building near David Letterman’s Late Show studio and another in an office building—seriously, it was right next to a dentist’s office! That may spook you, but if you’re looking for something other than the usual Asian massage parlor, here you go. Cash only.
22 West Spa
22 W 38th St between Fifth and Sixth Aves, first floor (212-997-2228)
Cost: $60 for 30 minutes; $80 for an hour, plus tip
Formerly called Gold Spa (and still called that by its fans, in case you wanna do some Google-researching), this is the most notorious spa in town. We’ve heard of people going in for a quick happy ending and getting a blow job (without a condom), a make-out session (while being tugged) or full-on sex. Our reporter never went that far, but he did enjoy what his health teacher once called “mutual masturbation” while a breast was in his mouth. Whatever you do, make sure the girl’s willing first—and remember, she was probably doing something similar with the dude before you. Be safe!
While I'm as opposed to human trafficking as any decent human being, I'm also progressive minded enough to know there are lots of women who would like to be proud of their careers in the sex trade, and wish the rest of the world would catch up with their sex-positive attitudes. Cheers for this article.
I agree with all the others who are shocked and disgusted by this article. Shame on you Timeout. I also don't understand how you can name these places and they won't get raided, even mentioning who to ask for?!?
To learn more about how you can rescue these and other sex slaves in NYC, visit www.freedomweeknyc.com and get involved in the fight against slavery.
Hello everyone, I found a great dating site______MillionaireCupid.org_____ The best dating club for seeking the rich singles, sexy beauties and even hot celebs.. what's the most important is:you dont have to be a millionaire.but you can meet one. I think everyone need to meet some miracle after all the terrible stuff in the news and the economy .You should check it out!!!
No J. Off, sex should not be criminalized. It remains fact that these women are most probably enslaved by their "employers."
Those who roundly condemn this article and TONY are politically correct Puritans who have NEVER been to one of these parlors and have NO IDEA of how well the women in THESE places are treated. It's a shame NYC has become polluted with neo-Puritans. Sex should not be criminalised! The human body is not disgusting!
When will we stop treating those from third world countries worse than our own pets? Money will never buy self respect/personal values. Please remove this article from the site. I am disgusted that a liberated magazine has advertised a new way to demoralize women and the American Dream.
Thanks to the "free" publicity from this article, these girls are really raking it in. The places mentioned here have been able to increase their fees. The "workers" are now pulling in almost $400 per day, and they don't have to pay FICA taxes. How do I get them to write about my Jack Shack ? It Is worth about $100,000 in village Voice Ads.
I was horrified to hear about this article. Your jovial reporting on these parlors mask the fact that they exploit young women who are often sold, deceived or abducted into this trade. Human trafficking and the sex trade in the U.S. should be something to combat, not advertise, as this article does. I am thoroughly disappointed in Time Out New York. To those who employ these services, I hope you take some time to learn about what you are supporting for quick gratification.
Thankfully to SCTNow's Operatives Teams, there is action to stop this illegal activity. May those of you that exploit people in this sick industry experience the consequences of your own sickness. Beware to those of you that pay for sexual services - you will be brought to justice! www.SCTNow.org

I can't believe this column was published. All I can say is that I am disgusted by your promotion of giving business to places that fuel human trafficking. It is despicable, and I have the same wishes as Jonathan. Please thing about the lives that you are helping to ruin.
this is just not okay. i don't even care whether it's legal or not but honestly think about the women who are unwillingly having to do this, most likely they are illegally in this country and have no rights. way to perpetuate a continual problem, i thought your magazine was supposed to be progressive.
Some things cost more than you realize... http://www.mtv.co.uk/artists/the-killers/news/131258-the-killers-and-mtv-unite-against-human-trafficking
Time Out New York paid reporters to invest in commercial sexual exploitation and then invite all of us to be a part of the action. I do hope that you are arrested, indicted, convicted and serve prison time for what you have done.
Thank you Timeout NYC!!! This is a great article. I mean it, thank you so much!!! For a beginner this is great advice. Your mag is outstanding, and all of your tips are awesome!!!
I made a blog reporting similar establishments in Queens. Http://nymassage.blogspot.com
Thank you for your research and helping us fight modern-day slavery. Prayerfully this will be a happy ending for the women unwillingly involved in commercial sexual exploitation.
Based on the latest UN Trafficking in Persons report it is a high probability that the women in these "establishments" are victims of sex trafficking and/or debt bondage - two forms of modern-day slavery. Human Trafficking is now the leading illegal enterprise in the world today -surpassing drugs and weapons as a woman can be bought and sold several times over. It is estimated that more than 15000 trafficked women pass through NYC alone each year. For more info visit www.notforsalecampaign.org.
I'd like to bring my cat to one of these. Do you think he could have a happy ending too?
I do know of a few straight female happy ending spots, though. Ask if interested, as I have worked at 2 in town. Castrnsm@aol.com
Probably not. "Happy Ending" is usually referring to male ejaculation.
or straight female happy ending spots?
Are there any good lesbian happy ending spots?
