Let's get it on...
Get Naked
Brook, 30, musician; Bushwick, Brooklyn
Says Brook: “Five reasons you should go out with me: (1) I am a good dancer, if good dancer means ‘doesn’t care how he looks when he dances.’ (2) I am rarely late. (3) I work brutally hard at my music, so when I go out, I’m out to have the most fun possible. (4) My art keeps me young; I’m exuberant at 30 in a way that I wasn’t at 20. (5) I’m more into you than I am into me. Bonus: I don’t live with my parents.”
What Brook wants: “I’m looking for someone fun, smart and good-looking. No alpha drunks (no drunks, really). I want someone I can trust, but I want someone who keeps me surprised. A good listener and a good talker. Long-term, I want to be with someone tolerant of my touring schedule (this is really the most important thing). My pet peeves are young country and talking through movies/music, so…you know. Don’t do that stuff.”
Brook’s perfect summer date: “Friday afternoon, 2pm: You’ve taken the day off work, I work for myself. I pick you up on Bedford Avenue and we root through used CDs at Academy (I keep it brief). Eventually we take the A train to Dyckman Ave, with a picnic lunch I thought to pack. Fort Tryon Park is awesome on a summer afternoon, so we spend most of it wandering around, trying to skip stones across to New Jersey (this is the perfect summer date, so the laws of physics don’t apply). We walk to 59th Street, taking in as much of Central Park as we can, but especially Bethesda Fountain and the gazebo near the sailboat pond. It’s getting later, and there’s no fun in midtown on Friday night, so we hop down to the East Village for dinner at Caravan of Dreams or some other hole-in-the-wall on Indian row. After that, we see some cool/foreign movie at the Landmark, and hit up a hookah bar (or a bar bar).”
