Bethenny
What’s your favorite place to play tennis in New York City?
Bethenny Frankel: CityView (43-34 32nd Pl between Skillman Ave and Queens Blvd, penthouse, Long Island City, Queens; 718-389-6252, cityviewracquet.com)! That place is amazing, I love it! You can get me back there any day. It’s so close by too. They have a nice café, bar, everything.
Would you ever play tennis against your housewife rival Kelly Bensimon?
I would never do anything against, with or for Kelly. At my book signings, people always ask me how I put up with her. When you see crazy in the making, you just sit still and watch.
Do the other housewives play tennis?
Ramona loves tennis. She plays all the time. And then Jill would beat her. It’s great. All Ramona wants to do is beat everyone in tennis, and she can’t even beat herself in tennis!
Ramona
What’s your favorite place to play tennis in New York City?
Ramona Singer: Oh God! What’s the name of that place I love to play tennis in? It’s a cool, private club. It has a long hallway too. I have a short-term memory. [Calls her husband, Mario, for the name of the club. He doesn’t remember, so Ramona yells at him and calls a girlfriend. Her girlfriend was able to give her the name.] It’s the Town Tennis Club (430 E 56th St between First Ave and Sutton Pl; 212-752-4059). I play there when the weather is nice. It’s on a rooftop, isn’t that cool? I love it because it feels like you’re in a country club in Greenwich. It’s very Waspy and old-world.
Bethenny told us CityView is the best court.
CityView is another favorite. I feel like I’m going to a spa or on vacation. The courts are immaculate. They have a huge and gorgeous outdoor deck too! Everything is beyond gorgeous. CityView takes your breath away because of their double-height ceilings. It’s great for my daughter Avery, too! CityView picks up Avery from school and drops her off at home. Isn’t that incredible? I love it!
Bethenny vs. Kelly: Who would win in a match?
Oh God! That’s a great question. Kelly has long legs. She’s very athletic, but Bethenny is very determined. I think it would go to a tiebreaker.
