Yes, we know what day it is, but we prefer to think of Cupid as an underdressed man-slut who needs to invest in some new threads. (The diaper really isn’t cutting it, kid.) We’d take Cupes to our favorite Lower East Side vintage shop, Edith Machinist (104 Rivington St between Essex and Ludlow Sts, 212-979-9992), and help him buy his GF a fashionable gift she’d actually want. (Shocking!) The store boasts walls of vintage bags in lovely shades of leather, piles of boots in every size and cases of antique jewelry—all of which will make your heart stop, even if you don’t have anyone to buy it for you.
The Kiss & Tell ladies close Poland’s Unsound Festival with a Queen of Hearts party (Rose Live Music, 345 Grand St between Havemeyer St and Marcy Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn; sdphotography.net/kisstell; 8pm–4am, free), their homage to Lewis Carroll’s most unforgivable, wild and fashionable villainess. Dress in tribute to her, Tim Burton or both; dance to a mixed electro set by DJ Mike Servito, spiked with a love song or two; and liberally imbibe $5 rum-and-Cokes. Debauchery is par for the course in the make-out photo booths: Smize (smile with your eyes, as Tyra Banks commands) and fall down the rabbit hole.—Sharon Steel
