FeedingNYC
What is it?
A nonprofit that delivers Thanksgiving dinners to thousands of needy families
What do you want from me?
Volunteers are needed for two shifts (5–7am, 7–10am) on Tue 25. Food and monetary donations are also accepted ($35 buys enough ingredients for one family meal).
Who does it help?
FeedingNYC works with agencies such as Women in Need and the Center Against Domestic Violence to identify the shelters and families who require help.
What's in it for me?
Don’t underestimate the workout that comes with lifting 15-pound turkeys: “Volunteers will feel comfortable eating that extra piece of pumpkin pie after this,” promises FeedingNYC founder Robert LoCascio.
I'm sold. Let's do this shit.
