Canstruction
What is it?
An international design competition that builds impressive structures (Kermit, Humpety Dumpety, etc.) out of cans. Visitors donate one can for admission, and all cans are donated to charity.
What do you want from me?
Canned carrots, tinned tuna—you name it, they want it.
Who does it help?
Emergency feeding programs, soup kitchens and elderly-care centers via City Harvest
What's in it for me?
Other than an enormous sense of well-being? Knowing that you helped create some freakin’ awesome can art.
I'm sold. Let's do this shit.
Ring-a-ling-ling the Canstruction hotline at 212-366-5425 or drop cans by the World Financial Center (220 Vesey St at West St, canstruction.org), where the 40 uncanny structures will be on view starting Thu 20.
