What it is
Much buzzed about after its world premiere at Toronto, the archival chronicle of the “Zaire ’74” musical revue (an all-star warm-up to the epic Ali-Foreman “Rumble in the Jungle”) works best as a time capsule of performers at their peak, like James Brown and B.B. King.
Why we’re psyched
Director Jeffrey Levy-Hinte was a coeditor on When We Were Kings, and if this funk-laden concert doc isn’t as kaleidoscopically rich, it’s still a hip-swiveler.
