What it is
Bored of his bourgie life, a businessman (Ulrich Thomsen) becomes a test subject for a new antidepressant. After his fellow participants start exhibiting unpredictable behavior, the experiment is terminated; our hero, however, isn’t ready to give up his new pharmaceutical aids.
Why we’re psyched
Just when you think the movie is heading into the realm of Bigger than Life ital-ing, as this is the title of a film that’s directly referenced here histrionics, former Dogme 95 director Kristian Levring (The King Is Alive) detours the proceedings into a more subtle, psychologically unsettling territory. Spooky.
