Unless you enjoy watching Phish jam from the nosebleed seats of the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, you’ll be happy to hear about the complex’s new general-admission outdoor venue, the Bay Stage, which holds a more intimate 5,000 compared with the theater’s 14,000. As pop-punk quartet All Time Low prepares to break the venue’s seal on July 13, TONY spoke to vocalist-guitarist Alex Gaskarth.
How do you plan on christening the stage—are you going to perform in your tighty-whities like in that promo picture?
Aw, man. I don’t think that’s legal. I don’t think we’ll be doing anything too crazy, just bringing the rock.
But how will you make your mark?
Maybe cause the audience to have a simultaneous orgasm with our music? That might be fun.
Taking Back Sunday was going to be the inaugural band, but it backed out to tour with Blink-182. Isn’t being the first to perform at a new stage a bigger honor?
I can definitely understand why Taking Back Sunday would have gone out with Blink, being that it’s Blink’s first tour after a long hiatus—but what are you going to do?
What band would you bail on the Bay Stage to tour with?
Probably Blink. We would most likely have done the same thing.

Can someone please tell me where exactly is the Bay Stage. If I go to the regular Jones Beach theatre will there be signs directing me. I am going to the All Time Low concert tonight and have no idea where it is......HELP
