Brooklyn Record (brooklynrecord.com): A recent Brownstoner spin-off that’s shaping up to be a good catchall for news about the latest skirmishes around the borough.

Brownstoner (brownstoner.com): This influential site confesses to “an unhealthy obsession with Brooklyn brownstones and the lifestyles they define,” and its comments section offers some of the hottest online debates about gentrification, race and architectural changes. Click here for savvy real-estate speculation and laments about the infiltration of brownstone neighborhoods by “Fedders” buildings (modern boxes nicknamed for the unsightly air conditioners adorning their facades).

Gowanus Lounge (gowanuslounge.blogspot.com): A smart, open-minded and far-ranging blog, equally comfortable with old-school pleasures like the Dance of the Giglio and analysis of development and gentrification issues.

Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn (onlytheblogknowsbrooklyn.typepad.com): Louise Crawford is a bit of a den mother for bloggers in these parts—she recently arranged a “Brooklyn Blogfest” party. Her Park Slope–centric site is cozy, unpretentious and well informed, always siding with the little guy in the development wars.

Planet PLG (planetplg.com): A newish site covering Prospect–Lefferts Gardens that is doing some impressive original reporting, notably on the proposed SRO conversion of a dilapidated building at 205 Parkside Avenue.

Set Speed (ltjbukem.blogspot.com): Spot-on commentary and reporting on the rapidly evolving (devolving?) Fort Greene scene, from yuppified bars to out-of-sight real-estate prices.—Sarah Goodyear
