Apart from the ladies on the next page, the city’s most palpable manifestation of the phrase you’ve gotta have a gimmick comes to us via AvroKO, the design firm responsible for ushering the former Park Avenue Café through spring, summer, winter and fall (AvroKO also designed the Eat Out Award–winning Omido). The space goes through a full interior transformation each season, and so does the menu. Chef Craig Koketsu (also executive chef at Quality Meats) harnesses the best timely comestibles (lamb and sweet peas, for example, appear on the vernal menu), legitimizing the place beyond the visual song and dance.
