Welsh rarebit isn’t the only dish that could mislead diners (there’s no rabbit in it) at Wales Week’s free lunch: Glamorgan sausage, also on offer, is actually a mixture of cheese, leeks and bread crumbs. Meat-eaters shouldn’t despair: Salt-and-pepper-crusted steak is also in the lineup, along with tastings of whiskeys and ales.
