What can you tell us about the piece?
My performance includes a few characters: a sick Swedish man, a possessed German woman, a secular Jewish dwarf and a prophet. It has its own soundtrack and is built as one ongoing experience.
How does multimedia art maintain its relevance in the age of YouTube?
That’s like asking how does painting maintain its relevance in the age of graffiti. There is nothing precious about art except the dedication of the artist’s life to investigation in a certain medium. The only parameter for art is whether the artist is fully invested over a long period of time in his medium. One happy accident with a camera doesn’t make art—no matter if that accident is represented in an art gallery or on YouTube.
