If the Vietnamese banh mi is a study in contrasts, then Baoguette’s signature is the definitive text. Three forms of sweet and juicy pork (pâté, terrine and pulled) are stuffed into a crusty French loaf, their fatty flavor offset by bright strands of pickled carrot and daikon radish, enhanced by notes of fresh cilantro, and given a final depth of flavor with garlicky aioli and hot sriracha sauce. Add in a friendly price (starting at $5), and we’ve got the perfect lunch. Baoguette 61 Lexington Ave between 25th and 26th Sts (212-518-4089)
I liked it. The bbq pork was pretty scrumptious.
The online menu was deceiving in not reflecting the increase in prices. The sandwiches are good but the ordering system is horrible and your are not told there is a delivery fee of $5 at time of ordering. Never again. Not worth it.
Honestly, my roomate and I just ordered two sandwiches from this place and they were the most disgusting tasting things I have ever had in my entire life. Not only that is was the most difficult ordering/delivery process EVER. I have to go sit my face over the toilet right now, NEVER AGAIN.
