It doesn’t get as much slavering press attention as Berlin or Detroit, but Barcelona is a pretty hot place for electronic-music action. After all, just like everyone else, techno people like to quaff wine and nibble on tapas while basking in the Mediterranean breeze, after checking out the latest Almodóvar flick with a gorgeous Catalan creature at their side. All while sitting by some Gaudi confection, we might add. (At least, that’s what we’re guessing what life in Barcelona is like.) One of the city’s best techno dudes, Paco Osuna, is paying a visit to NYC on Halloween night, when he’ll be playing the Made Event party at Love. The club’s sterling sound system should suit Osuna’s music well: Deep but huge, subtle but banging, futuristic yet somehow exuding a very Latin sort of funk, these are the kinds of beats that beg to be heard in the middle of a dance floor. For now, however, your computer speakers or headphones will have to do; here’s a mix from the Spanish superstar.
