Local house DJs are the workhorses of the NYC clubbing scene, performing the thankless chores (opening up, spinning off-nights, having to pay for their own drinks) while those fancy thoroughbreds—i.e., big-name jocks—gobble up all the hay. That’s a shame, because those locals are often just as good, if not better, than the superstars. Adam Force and Ian Resler, together known as AlterImage, are two such deserving neighborhood talents—but the adulation might start pouring in soon, as the pair is launching a new label, also called AlterImage. The premiere release—the With No End EP —comes from Force and Resler themselves, and the duo is celebrating with a release party at Pacha on Friday 22, when they’ll open for Dave Seaman and Nick Warren. (Next time, maybe Seaman and Warren will be opening for them.) To whet your appetite, here’s a live AlterImage set, recorded at Cielo, from this past January, full of deep- and tech-house goodness.
