He’s been a Gothamite for only five years, but since moving to NYC, Northern Ireland’s Eamon Harkin has proved himself to be an indispensable cog in the city’s clubbing machinery. Starting as a DJ with the Calling All Kids parties in 2004, he’s worked his way through the nightlife ranks, and currently has his fingers in not one, not two, but three after-dark pies: the Prime Time parties, the Mister Saturday Night hoedown and the summertime Sunday Best soirees. Harkin also helps promote events (club-related and otherwise) with partner Justin Carter via a project called New Release, and he has a great track out on Wurst Edits, with another in the pipeline on the storied R&S label (in short, he’s making us all look like lazy laggards). On top of that, he’s an excellent DJ—for proof, give a listen to this fun mix of electronic house, recorded live at Mister Saturday Night on February 28.
Eamon Harkin, along with Henrik Schwarz, Âme and the Chap, plays at the New Release party Friday 27.
