La Pomme
Owner Tommy Tardie closed his lounge Ultra in August to reinvent the space as this “Fellini-esque” nightclub, where black-and-white pictures from fashion photographer Fadil Berisha grace the walls and Victorian-style wallpaper depicts tiny images of brass knuckles, razor blades and gold chains. As for entertainment, DJs will spin music ranging from Euro-house to ’80s rock, pop and hip-hop, while performance artists will provide additional eye candy. Standard drinks (martinis, Cosmos) will be available at the full bar, along with a selection of beers, wines and small bites including mini Reuben sandwiches. 37 W 26th St between Broadway and Sixth Ave (212-725-3860)
The Knitting Factory
Tribeca’s famed music venue moves across the river to a smaller Williamsburg location. Instead of the tri-level layout of yore, the new spot features a single performance room cleverly designed to look like a giant recording studio, complete with soundproof glass dividing the bar area from the concert space. The bar (dubbed “Knit Bar”) includes ten beer taps pouring mostly local and craft varieties, a handful of wines selected for their value and quality, and specialty cocktails featuring organic booze. Be on the lookout for familiar sights; some parts of the original venue have been incorporated into the decor here. 361 Metropolitan Ave at Havemeyer St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (347-529-6696)
