Palace Gate Gilt restaurant unveils this 75-seat outdoor lounge, set in the scenic courtyard of the historic Villiard Mansion, which also happens to be a featured location on Gossip Girl. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a fashionista teenager to enjoy the space, where original cocktails like the Mariposa (mescal, fresh lime, candied violets) and classics, such as the Pimm’s cup, can be enjoyed alongside casual dishes from executive chef Justin Bogle, including suckling-pig tacos. Wine director Patrick Cappiello offers a list of 20 half bottles that will be available only outside, in addition to the restaurant’s wider selection. Beauty Bar The East Village’s retro Beauty Bar has spawned five locations throughout the U.S. since it opened fourteen years ago, and now Brooklyn can boast a branch as well. Beers from Sixpoint and Brooklyn Brewery are on tap, the vintage hair dryers are in place, and the $10 martini-and-manicure deal is available Wednesday through Saturday after 6pm. New to this location: throwback finger foods like pigs in a blanket. 921 Broadway at Melrose St, Bushwick, Brooklyn (347-529-0370)
