Bianky Hookah Bar and Lounge
Hedonistic pleasures pervade this Egyptian nightclub, where weekend belly dancers, bombastic beats and pulsing lights attract a Russian and Middle Eastern crowd eager to suck on hookahs and lasciviously named shots and cocktails (the 69 or the Juicy Pussy among them). Daredevil puffers can load their pipes with liquor in lieu of water (supposedly, the vapors get you drunk). 2340 Coney Island Ave between Aves T and U, Gravesend, Brooklyn (718-376-2500). Beekman Bar and Books
Ditch the holey sneakers and patchwork pants before hitting the newest outpost of this gentlemanly den of inequity, packed with half-moon leather banquettes and dark wood aplenty. Cigars and brown spirits are the preferred poisons, with more than 150 whiskeys (mmm…20-year-old Pappy Van Winkle) available to sip or mixed into classic cocktails. 889 First Ave at 50th St (212-758-6600). Sugarland
Smoking may be barred within this split-level Williamsburg gay bar, but walk up to the outdoor terrace on the top floor and you’ll find a graffiti-covered cigarette refuge. Once you’ve had your nic fix, head downstairs to glug dirt-cheap drinks, ogle go-go dancers and shake your tail feather on the dance floor. 221 North 9th St between Driggs Ave and Roebling St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (718-599-4044). The Carnegie Club
Soaring ceilings and Art Deco style inform this sophisticated smoking paradise, where cigar and cigarette fiends congregate on plush couches to puff away (for a $10 tobacco minimum) while listening to jazz ensembles and, come Saturdays, Sinatra imitators. 156 W 56th St between Sixth and Seventh Aves (212-957-9676). Average drink: $13.

Johnson Club Room
Beneath tobacconist Nat Sherman’s midtown shop lies a dark-wood lounge that, in true countercultural style, thumbs its nose at Bloomberg’s draconian policy. Pay $25 for a day pass, and you can inhale Nat’s finest or a cigar selected from the walk-in humidor, then nip a nice Scotch—the smokier the better. 12 E 42nd St at Fifth Ave (646-442-1858). Average drink: $7.
