The item An old steel basketball hoop
The process “We called a glass shop and ordered a piece of glass that would fit inside the hoop and rest on the net hooks. Then we screwed the hoop to the wall.
The materials A piece of glass 17.75" in diameter and 1/4" thick ($25) at Liberty Glass and Mirror (671 83rd St at Dyker Pl, Dyker Heights, Brooklyn; 718-491-3148); anchors and 1/4" and 1 1/2" screws ($2) at homedepot.com—Collected and salvaged by Wary Meyers (warymeyers.com)
